Dr M L Swarankar is the Chairman & Managing Trustee of the first recognised Medical College in private sector in Rajasthan, namely, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur (a 650 bedded teaching hospital), established in the year 2000.
After doing his MBBS with distinction & winning Gold Medal in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from University of Rajasthan. He completed his Post Graduation from India's premier Medical Institute - PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1982.

He had his basic IVF training from Liverpool UK. He has traveled abroad extensively mainly to USA, Germany & Australia for advanced training in ART & Micro Surgery. He is the founder director of Jaipur Fertility & Micro Surgery Research Centre (now a Unit of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur) which is the first centre in Rajasthan & North India to deliver the first IVF and ICSI baby (in 1989 & 1994 respectively).

So far more than 6000 IVF/ICSI babies (Test tube babies) have been born after treatment at Jaipur Fertility & Micro Surgery Research Centre, Jaipur and the centre is doing an average 1500 IVF Cycles per annum.
Ever since Dr M L Swarankar became a doctor be had a dream to establish a Medical Institute par excellence which could provide quality medical education & world class quality health services to the community, specially the needy, as he felt they were the most deserving. It was with this vision that he established Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital.

Dr Swarnkar has been inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's most loving bhajana
(a true human is one who understands and associates himself with the pains and suffering of his fellow beings).
