  • Aldosterone (Conn's syndrome): leading to high blood pressure and low potassium levels.
  • Metanephrine/normetanephrine (pheochromocytoma).
  • Cortisol (Cushing's syndrome): causing weight gain, high blood pressure, and other symptoms.
  • Androgens (male hormones): potentially causing virilization in women.

Symptoms:

  • Vary depending on hormone produced and tumor size.
  • May include:
  • High blood pressure
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Fatigue
  • Hormonal imbalances

Diagnosis:

    • Imaging tests: CT or MRI scans to visualize the adrenal glands.
    • Hormone level tests: To determine if the adenoma is producing excess hormones.

Treatment

  • Surgery (adrenalectomy): Removing the affected adrenal gland.
  • Medications: To manage hormone-related symptoms or blood pressure.
