In a landmark achievement in 2025, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital proudly became the first Academic Medical Centre in India to achieve Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army
Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences & Technology (MGUMST) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army to extend both educational and healthcare support to serving and retired personnel and their families.
Under this collaboration, meritorious students securing admission to Mahatma Gandhi Medical College or Mahatma Gandhi Dental College are awarded a scholarship of ₹1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only) per annum. Students admitted to other allied health institutions under the University are eligible for a scholarship equivalent to 33% of the prescribed tuition fee.
Additionally, the institution provides free medical and surgical management for complex or specialized cases (excluding medicines and disposables) that cannot be managed in Defence medical facilities and are not covered under the ECHS scheme, thereby reinforcing its commitment to the welfare of Indian Army personnel and their dependents.
