FAQs

Neuro-intervention is a specialized branch of medicine that treats diseases of the brain, spine, and blood vessels using minimally invasive, image-guided procedures instead of open surgery.

Neuro-intervention treats conditions such as stroke, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), carotid artery disease, spinal vascular disorders, and certain brain tumors.

Neuro-intervention uses catheter-based techniques inserted through a small puncture (usually in the groin or wrist), avoiding large surgical incisions and resulting in faster recovery and reduced risk.

Yes. Neuro-interventional procedures are evidence-based and widely practiced. They are performed by trained specialists using advanced imaging and safety protocols to minimize risks.

Patients with acute stroke, aneurysms, abnormal brain or spinal blood vessels, or narrowed arteries may benefit from neuro-interventional procedures after specialist evaluation.

Yes. Many neuro-interventional procedures, especially acute stroke treatment, are medical emergencies. Our department provides 24×7 emergency services.

Recovery is usually faster than open surgery. Most patients can resume normal activities within a few days, depending on the condition and procedure performed.

In many cases, neuro-intervention eliminates the need for open surgery. However, some patients may require combined care with neurosurgery.

Neuro-interventional procedures are usually done under local anesthesia or general anesthesia, and patients experience minimal discomfort.

Hospital stay depends on the procedure and patient condition. Many patients are discharged within 1–3 days, while emergency cases may need longer observation.

Yes. Our Neuro-Intervention Department provides round-the-clock stroke care, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Procedures are performed by trained neuro-intervention specialist Dr. Madan Mohan Gupta in collaboration with neurologists, neurosurgeons, anesthetists, and critical care teams.
